Construction time tracking

Construction crew time tracking that doesn't need a Friday cleanup

One-tap clock in. One-tap clock out. Live headcount per site, weekly hours per crew, hours straight to Xero. Works offline, because your sites are.

Paper timesheets aren't time tracking

They're a guess about what happened, three days late, in someone's truck's glovebox. Real time tracking is the event happening on the phone the moment the boots hit site — not a story typed up on Friday afternoon.

Built for the operator, not the office

One tap. One field. Done. If it takes 30 seconds, your crew will use it. If it takes 10 minutes, they won't.

Works without reception

Civil sites and regional jobs lose signal. Burgy stores the clock-in offline and syncs when it can. No lost hours.

Straight to Xero

Labour hours bill the client. Machine hours bill the wet hire. Both go to Xero without anyone re-typing them.

What's inside

Everything you need to track crew time

One-tap clock in, one-tap clock out

Worker arrives on site, opens Burgy, taps clock-in. Done. Site, time, vehicle (if any), and prestart completion captured. Clocking out is the same.

  • Arrival + departure event with timestamp
  • Optional vehicle selection at clock-in
  • Optional notes per entry
  • Prestart completion tracked at clock-in

Live headcount per site

Office dashboard shows who's on each site right now. Useful for safety, useful for chasing where the boss is, useful for visitor management.

  • Real-time per-site headcount
  • Names + clock-in time per person
  • Vehicle assignments visible
  • Filter by crew, by job, by client

Weekly hours per worker

Each worker has a running tally of hours this week, this month, and per job. End of week you have the timesheet ready — no chasing.

  • Auto-calculated weekly hours per worker
  • Per-job hours for invoicing
  • Overtime flagged where configured
  • Exportable per pay period

Hours straight to Xero

Labour hours feed direct to Xero so you bill what was actually worked. Machine hours feed the same way for wet hire invoicing.

  • Per-worker labour hours to Xero
  • Per-machine hours for wet hire
  • Job-level cost tracking
  • Set once, runs every period

Public sign-in for subbies + visitors

QR code or public URL at the gate. Subbies and visitors enter their name + ABN, no Burgy account needed. Hours sit in the same site record as your crew.

  • QR code or public URL
  • Captures name, ABN, contact
  • Works for one-off visitors too
  • Same site record as your team

Works without reception

Clock-ins and outs work offline. The phone stores events and syncs when signal returns. No data lost if the operator's in a black spot.

  • Offline clock in / out
  • Stored on the device until sync
  • Idempotent — no duplicates after reconnection
  • Works deep in regional and remote sites
FAQ

Construction time tracking, answered

What is construction time tracking?

Construction time tracking captures who's on site, when they arrived, when they left, what they worked on, and what vehicle or machine they were running. The data feeds payroll and invoicing instead of being typed up from paper slips on Friday.

How does Burgy track construction crew time?

Every worker clocks in on their phone with one tap when they arrive on site. Burgy logs the time, the site, and optionally the vehicle they're using. Clocking out is another tap. The office sees live headcount and accumulates weekly hours per crew automatically.

Does it work for subbies, visitors and non-Burgy users?

Yes. You can run a public sign-in URL or QR code at the gate — subbies and visitors enter their name and ABN on the form. They don't need a Burgy login or app. Their hours sit alongside your crew's in the same record.

How do hours get from Burgy to my payroll or invoicing?

Hours flow direct to Xero — both labour hours (for invoicing the client) and machine hours (for invoicing wet hire). You bill what was actually worked, not what someone wrote on a paper docket.

What if there's no phone signal on the site?

Burgy works offline. Clock-in / clock-out events are stored on the worker's phone and sync when signal returns. No data lost, no excuses.

Can I see who's on site right now?

Yes. The office dashboard shows live headcount per site, with each worker's clock-in time and which vehicle (if any) they're using. Handy if there's an incident or visitor needing to know who's around.
